March 21 2014 marked the 25th Anniversary of Madonna’s Like a Prayer album.  Like a Prayer was released on March 21, 1989 by Sire Records.   Madonna worked with Stephen Bray, Patrick Leonard, and Prince on the album while co-writing and co-producing all the songs.

Six singles were released from the album: Like a Prayer, Express Yourself, Cherish, Oh Father, Dear Jessie, and Keep It Together.

On March 20 1991, Madonna’s Madonna VHS video collection was certified multi-platinum (100,000 units) in the USA.

The home video included Madonna’s music videos for: Burning Up, Borderline, Lucky Star and Like A Virgin.

On March 19, 1996, Madonna’s Love Don’t Live Here Anymore (a remixed version of 1978 Rose Royce song originally recorded by Madonna in 1984 on Like A Virgin album) was released as a US single, from the ballads collection, Something to Remember.

On March 18 1995,  Madonna hosted a pajama party for 1,500 fans at Webster Hall, in New York, to celebrate the premiere of the Bedtime Story music video broadcast live on MTV. During the party, Madonna also read a bedtime story of Miss Spider’s Tea Party by David Kirk.

On March 17 2014, Madonna made a statement to ABC News Radio regarding the death of designer L’Wren Scott, who was found dead in her New York City apartment of an apparent suicide:

“This is a horrible and tragic loss. I’m so upset. I loved L’Wren’s work and she was always so generous with me.”
