On June 23 2015, Liz Rosenberg announced her retirement as Madonna’s publicist.

During Madonna’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Madonna thanked Liz in her acceptance speech:

“She’s been — and still is — the head of publicity for my entire career.  Now, does anybody understand the insanity of being my publicist for the last 25 years? Well, I think Liz was smoking a joint when I first met her. I walked into her office and she very politely stubbed it out in the ashtray. I don’t think she thought I knew she was smoking a joint but it was a little bit obvious. Anyway, we hit it off right away. She was my kinda girl — tough, irreverent and funny. And we’ve had a long and amazing chunk of time together.”

On June 12 2008, Simon & Schuster announced that Madonna’s younger brother, Christopher Ciccone, would be writing a memoir about his famous sister.

“Ciccone’s extraordinary memoir is based on his life and 47 years of growing up with and working with his sister-the most famous woman in the world,” the company said in a press release.

The publishing house ordered a first printing of 350,000 copies of Life With My Sister, to be released on July 15, 2008.

When asked, Madonna’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, said there would be no comment “at this time.”

Have you read Christopher’s book on Madonna? What did you think?

On June 11 2005, promo-only remixes of the American Life track Mother And Father peaked at # 9 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Club Play chart in the U.S.

The chart placement was fueled by Peter Rauhofer’s “Re-Invention Remix” of the song, which was featured on his compilation album Live @ Roxy 4. His label *69 Records also issued a unsegued version of the remix on a scarce promo CD. Additional white-label remixes of Mother And Father by Johnny Rocks also surfaced, though it is unlikely that they had as much impact on the song’s chart placement.

It is believed that the remixes were initially commissioned for a proposed American Life remix album. The idea eventually devolved into the Remixed & Revisited EP, with no remixes of Mother And Father making the final cut.
