I saw Rebel Heart three months later in September of that year at Wizard Capital One in Washington and it was a brilliant Madonna performance! Madonna-Queen of Heartland Rock!
The dates changed a bit (maybe a postponement for Sydney, can’t remember) or maybe an extra Sydney show was added because I saw her twice in Sydney. Once front row. And the second time up the back but it was the final night of the entire tour. She came on so late and the show was so dragged out (nearly 3 hours) with her rambling that half the stadium was empty by the time she finished at nearly 2am.
I also saw tears of a clown in Melbourne. Enjoyed it on the night but watching it back it’s not good at all. An artist definitely past her prime by this stage. Luckily I’d already made my peace with that well before 2015 and just enjoyed it for what it was.
I’m afraid her lateness is the undoing of a magnificent touring career. It’s a shame because it is such an easy thing to do. Just show up on time (or close)! She needs to wait a looong time before doing a road show again and make it worth the casual fans money and time.
Just checked. She ended up moving the Brisbane dates to in between Melbourne and Sydney. So Sydney was last. Probably thought she was going to add more dates but ended up cutting the visit short
