They had a better friendship!
Dave and Madonna were friends and still are. It was all a big misunderstanding. She was asked to come on the show just to razz Dave. Was told to just do whatever to keep it going. It went awry and the rest is Herstory.
Madonna is so much fun here. Love this interview and she reminds me of Susan from DSS so much!
The Leno surprise (which I did not catch live) was a great rebuttal to all the hatred M was getting by the press for Letterman. But, the boots she wore on Letterman were in great demand at MODA in Dallas (A mostly punk/New wave/Underground) store after she wore them.
