Jay! I agree! You Must Love Me is a beautiful and brilliant song but if Madonna were a new artist in today’s Radio climate, she would be shut out and shown the door!
She’s pretty much shut out now. 80s and 90s oldie stations play her hits from those decades, but she’s pretty much ignored by contemporary radio nowadays. “American Life” was the end of Madonna the radio star, at least in the US.
