On April 18 2012, Madonna told NBC’s Harry Smith, “I need to be a tougher mom.”
Juggling a new album that debuted at number one and being a single mother to four kids is not easy, Madonna told Smith, saying she may need to toughen up after photos surfaced of her 15-year-old daughter smoking a cigarette.

On April 9 2012, Avicii released the Ultra Music Fest Remix of Girl Gone Wild. The remix kept all of Madonna’s original vocals, but the Swedish hitmaker lent his signature electro sounds to the back beat of the UMF Mix version. While Madonna’s album version of Girl Gone Wild was danceable as is, the revamped Avicii version made the song into an all-out party, with intense synth and Eurodance beats added to the MDNA track.

During a Twitter Q&A Madonna held on March 27, 2012, to promote her new album, deadmau5 tweeted her:
“You’re a role model to 100’s of millions. You have a powerful voice, EDM could use your positive influence, not ‘molly’ talk.”
Madonna responded by tweeting an old picture of herself wearing Mickey Mouse ears, captioned:
“From one mouse to another, I don’t support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called Have You Seen Molly written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my album.”
Deadmau5 replied:
“Fair enough, i was just voicing my concerns as i usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally.”

Today In Madonna History: February 5, 2012
On February 5, 2012, Madonna performed the Super Bowl XLVI halftime show at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis as part of Super Bowl XLVI. The performance featured Madonna with special guests LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and Cee Lo Green. Madonna’s performance broke a record as the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show in history, garnering 114 million viewers.
Madonna performed Vogue, Music, Give Me All Your Luvin’, Open Your Heart/Express Yourself and Like A Prayer.
