On June 18 and 19 2012, Madonna was in Florence, Italy, shooting the music video for Turn Up the Radio. The video was directed by Tom Munro. Tom had previously directed Madonna’s music video for Give It 2 Me in 2008.
The video was released on July 16, 2012.
On June 12 2012, Lady Gaga hit back at Madonna after the Queen of Pop made a public dig at her by performing a mash-up of her own Express Yourself and Gaga’s Born This Way during her MDNA World Tour.
Gaga was clearly unimpressed by the stunt and decided to retaliate during a concert in Auckland, New Zealand, telling fans: “You could never invalidate the power of Born This Way. I don’t want to be your fucking queen, I want to be your friend.”
On April 24 2012, Madonna’s Girl Gone Wild 12″ picture disc was released.

On April 18 2012, Madonna told NBC’s Harry Smith, “I need to be a tougher mom.”
Juggling a new album that debuted at number one and being a single mother to four kids is not easy, Madonna told Smith, saying she may need to toughen up after photos surfaced of her 15-year-old daughter smoking a cigarette.
On April 14, 2012, Madonna’s MDNA ranked as the number-one electronic album on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart in the USA.
MDNA remained number-one for the issues dated April 21, 28, and May 5.
On April 12 2012, Madonna launched her first signature fragrance, Truth or Dare by Madonna at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City.
On April 9 2012, Avicii released the Ultra Music Fest Remix of Girl Gone Wild. The remix kept all of Madonna’s original vocals, but the Swedish hitmaker lent his signature electro sounds to the back beat of the UMF Mix version. While Madonna’s album version of Girl Gone Wild was danceable as is, the revamped Avicii version made the song into an all-out party, with intense synth and Eurodance beats added to the MDNA track.
