On November 22 1984, Madonna graced the cover of her very first Rolling Stone magazine with issue 435. Playing with the success of Like A Virgin, the headline read: Madonna Goes All The Way. Madonna went on to achieve the most covers of any female between 1984 and 2009.

Today in Madonna History: November 21, 1992
On November 21 1992, Madonna was named Most Popular International Solo Female Artist at the 2nd annual Australian Music Awards.

Today in Madonna History: November 20, 1993
On November 20 1993, Madonna – Live Down Under: The Girlie Show was broadcast on HBO. Live Down Under was the channel’s most watched original program of the year.
The November 20 show was to be filmed at the Sydney Cricket Ground and aired on HBO, however, severe weather conditions forced the cancellation of the show, so the November 19 show (which had been taped at the same venue the night before as a “safety show”) was aired instead.

Today in Madonna History: November 19, 1986

On November 19 1986, Madonna’s Open Your Heart single was released. Open Your Heart was the fourth single to be released from the True Blue album.
The single would eventually become Madonna’s fifth number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 (topping the chart on February 7, 1987).
