On June 24 1989, Madonna’s Express Yourself single debuted at #21 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Maxi Single Sales chart.
The 12″ maxi single included the following:
- Express Yourself (Non-Stop Express Mix) – 7:57
- Express Yourself (Stop & Go Dubs) – 10:49
- Express Yourself (Local Mix) – 6:26
- The Look of Love (Album Version) – 4:00
I love the 7″ remix better than the album version. To me, this version is more upbeat and cheerful like the 7″ versions of Like a Prayer, Cherish, Oh Father, Keep it Together and the 7″ remix od Dear Jessie. Love Song, Pray for Spanish Eyes, Promise to Try and Till Death do us Part could have all been singles as well! And for Truth or Dare Warner should’ve released a soundtrack with the video for Promise to Try. Sometimes I think Warner fucked up there.
That’s right MLN! Truth or Dare never had a soundtrack-Perhaps the single biggest mistake Warner made when Madonna was with them!
