On August 16, 1958, the world was introduced to someone who would go on to redefine what it means to be a pop star.

For more than four decades, Madonna hasn’t just set trends—she’s challenged them, broken them, reinvented herself, and inspired generations of artists and fans along the way. Every era has had its own look, sound and attitude, yet somehow she’s always remained unmistakably Madonna.

Happy Birthday to the Queen of Pop. Thank you for the music, the memories, the fearless creativity, and for constantly reminding us that the next reinvention is always just around the corner.

To celebrate today, I’m sharing 20 of my favourite Madonna photos that I’ve collected over the past few months. Some are iconic, some are beautifully candid, and some simply capture a moment in time that I can’t stop looking at.

No particular order… just twenty images that remind me why she’s still one of the most fascinating artists to ever step on a stage.

On July 13, 2026, CONFESSIONS II debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.

The album became Madonna’s ninth No. 1 studio album in Canada and her eleventh chart-topping album overall, including The Immaculate Collection and Celebration.

More than four decades after her self-titled debut reached No. 16 in Canada, Madonna returned to the top of the Canadian Albums chart with CONFESSIONS II.

On December 26 2009, Revolver, the second and final single from Madonna’s career-spanning greatest hits collection, Celebration, peaked at #130 on the UK Singles chart. The second single received minimal promotion from Warner Bros. No music video was released. Only digital releases supported the single until CD and vinyl releases came out between the end of January to March (depending on country). By the time physical releases were put out, interest in the single had faded at radio and in general.

On December 22 2009, Madonna’s hits collection Celebration was released on vinyl in the U.S. by Warner Bros. Records following a one-week delay from its original street date.

The deluxe vinyl package featured four 120g black vinyl discs pressed at Record Industry (Netherlands) in a 2-pocket Stoughton gatefold jacket with expanded pockets (2 discs in each pocket) and included all of the 36 songs originally available on the 2-CD edition of the album. A vinyl edition for the European market also appeared in record shops on January 8th, 2010.

Although Warner made no indication of either pressing being a limited edition release, the sets disappeared from store shelves once their initial shipments had sold and were promptly deleted from circulation by Warner on both continents without explanation. Sealed copies of the sets now command more than $500+ USD in the collectors market.
