Spawning five singles and winning four Grammy awards, it garnered near-universal acclaim upon its release and it is often cited as a high watermark in Madonna’s career as a recording artist.
Ray Of Light was produced by Madonna & William Orbit with additional production by Patrick Leonard & Marius De Vries.
On March 2 1991, Madonna’s Rescue Me single was reviewed in Billboard magazine.
Despite Billboard’s predictions, with no music video to promote the release, Rescue Me peaked at #9. However, it was also her highest debut on the Hot 100 at the time, entering at #15 due to early adds for the song on radio playlists.

On March 31 1990, Keep It Together hit its peak position of number-eight on the Billboard Hot 100.
While it is possible that it reached its natural peak on the charts, some have speculated that the single’s ascent may have been prematurely interrupted by the sudden release of Madonna’s next single, Vogue.
On March 30 2009, Madonna appeared in a Malawi court seeking to adopt a second child from the southern African country. Madonna successfully adopted Mercy James.
On March 29 1985, Madonna’s Into The Groove video (from Desperately Seeking Susan) premiered on MTV.
