On February 20 2001, Madonna’s official website announced that Madonna planned to record a Spanish version of her next single, What It Feels Like For A Girl, with a tentative release date of late March.
While the Spanish version (titled Lo Que Siente La Mujer) featured on the maxi-single and serviced to Latin radio stations was set to the album version of the song, Madonna would blend the Spanish lyrics with the music from the Calderone & Quayle Dark Side Mix for the live version performed during the Drowned World Tour.
What It Feels Like for a Girl and La Isla Bonita-two beautiful Spanish Madonna concertos!
Hey There, I love these emails. Do you happen to have a database or working list of “today in Madonna History” that I can use for a project I’m working on? Would be so helpful!!

Hi Mike, glad you like it! Most of the research for the blog was done on the fly as we were creating it, so we weren’t working from one particular source or another and do not have anything catalogued in any format outside of the blog itself. There’s a way to export blogs from WordPress but it’s in a proprietary file format intended as a backup file in case a blog needs to be re-uploaded. It contains all of the html markup and everything and would require a specialized parser to be written in order to be able to export it to a viewer, database or spreadsheet format. The easiest way to access any of the information is therefore through the blog directly. Good luck with your project!
