I’ve got the moves baby, you got the motion
If we got together we’d be causing a commotion

And Madonna still does after 37 years! Long may she rave forever!
I always have loved her 7″ single mixes better than the album versions. The 7 inch silver screen mix was amazing. This should have been a #1. Warner North America made a huge mistake not releasing The Look of Love. If they had made a video and released it it would have went to the top 5 for sure. The Look of Love was her best ballad after Live to Tell. It hit the top 10 in Europe and it should have been included on the ballads compilation Something to Remember.
I agree on all your points. I’ve always wondered if Causing a Commotion had a video playing on MTV, it would’ve gained those few extra points to go to #1 on the HOT 100. I think it spent 3 weeks at #2. Also combining The Look of Love with Santa Baby would’ve made for a good double A side single release. They were both late 1987.
