On April 4 1987, open dance auditions were held for Madonna’s Who’s That Girl World Tour at the Debbie Reynolds Studio on Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, California.
The call ad sought dancers that were:
“Good in rock, free-style, jazz and latin.”
Audition times:
- 1:00 PM – Males who look 9-12 years-old
- 3:00 PM – Male and female
- 4:00 PM – Latin-looking men, 30-50 years-old (bring prepared Latin piece)
Did you attend the Who’s That Girl World Tour? Which city? How did this tour compare to future tours?
I Loved Who’s That Girl?-At that point, I became a Madonna Fan for life!
I went to the concert back in 1987. It was with a group of friends from high school in Dallas Texas. In fact, our year book had a whole page dedicated to her.
Saw her show at the Anaheim Stadium, in the nosebleed seats, and it was as though we had to watch the show from the moon! I was so glad when “Ciao, Italia” came out on video, so that I could appreciate the spectacle in close-up detail, especially the choreography, which you KNOW I practiced the hell out of in my room. 😉
