On March 3 1998, Madonna’s seventh studio album, Ray Of Light, was released in North America.

Spawning five singles and winning four Grammy awards, it garnered near-universal acclaim upon its release and it is often cited as a high watermark in Madonna’s career as a recording artist.

  1. Ray of Light is not only Madonna’s best record-it is one of my Top 10 Rock Albums of all time! On every song from Ray of Light, there is a marked sadness in her voice that she can’t shake or escape because she’s crying about a certain something-Madonna’s sadness is heartbreakingly real-it’s just there! No need to analyze or explain! Madonna is artful and brilliant-Long may Our Lady Reign Forever!
