On April 9 1995, Madonna’s Bedtime Story single peaked at number five in Australia, where it stayed in that position for three weeks. It fell out of the top ten in the fifth week, and eventually exited the charts after a total run of nine weeks, falling to 44 on its last week in the charts.

Sal Cinquemani of Slant Magazine praised the song, claiming that the song had unfulfilled potential and that it “could have been the next Vogue“.

  1. I Love Bedtime Story! Like Drowned World/Substitute for Love, Nobody Knows Me and Joan of Arc after it, the song trance has to do with Madonna’s prized subject-media death and how she has survived it! She cries in Wet Tears-“And Inside/We’re All Still Wet!/Longing and Yearning/How Can I Explain How I Feel?”
-and why Madonna has a good cry about it! It must be hard being the most famous person on Earth
but luckily, Madonna has a Rebel Heart that beats loud and strong and I love her for that!
